Suppose that someone told you about a country that once, many millions of years ago, was a tropical island, and now lies many thousands of kilometres away between high mountain crags and peaks.
This country in the mountains, let’s call it Braies, is, thanks to the peculiarities of its people and nature, quite different from everything around it. Whilst outside of the Braies Valley a never ending hustle and bustle of constantly running ski lifts and artificial temples of adventure have sprung to life in only a few decades, this has all just been observed by the people of the Braies Valley as if it was something that had nothing to do with them. Even though the valley’s inhabitants may seem stubborn and unworldly, it means that they have maintained an unspoilt world that has become the kind of place of which millions dream today.
