Our hotel is at the heart of an impressive natural landscape that is part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site – and we aspire to preserve it. That is why for many years we have relied on renewable energy and responsible action. For us, eco-holidays are not just a trend, but a permanent mindset and something that is close to our hearts. Anyone who spends a holiday with us will not only enjoy the wonders of nature but can also feel safe in the knowledge that they are being treasured and preserved.

Saving CO₂ and conserving resources

Energy from sunshine and wood

Right from our earliest days we heated our rooms with wood. In 2008, we installed a modern woodchip heating system that supplies our building with heat and hot water – run solely with local wood, some of which comes from our own forest with the rest being sourced from the surrounding farms. Clear statutory regulations guarantee regrowth and thus the natural cycle. And the sun helps too – since 2010, a photovoltaic plant has supplied our hotel with solar power, with over 80 % of our energy needs being covered in this way.
