From south, north, east, west

This is how to reach Hotel Trenker

Hotel Trenker lies at the heart of the magnificent nature of South Tyrol, the northernmost province in Italy. More precisely, we can be found in the idyllic Prags Valley, a charming tributary valley of the Puster Valley – and only 1.5 km from the renowned and world-famous Lake Prags.

There is a more detailed description of your route here below.

By car / motorbike

Lake Prags is a special place, and special places deserve protection and conservation. For this reason, the Prags Valley is closed to private motor vehicles daily between 9.30 am and 4 pm from 10.07.2025 until 10.09.2025. As our guests, you will receive a transit permit in good time – that is, around 1 week before you travel – to enable you to reach us at any time without having to join a long queue. During the rest of the year, the valley is open to all means of transport at all times.

Travelling via the Brenner motorway (A22)

Take the Brixen exit and follow the signposts into the Puster Valley (SS49) as far as Welsberg. At the roundabout take the first exit towards Toblach. Drive through the tunnel, and after approx. 2 km turn right through the underpass into the Prags Valley. Follow the road in the direction of Lake Prags. Once you reach the church in St. Veit, it is only another 500 metres to our hotel, which is on the right-hand side of the road.

Travelling via Belluno and Cortina (from the south)

Take the A27 motorway as far as Belluno / Ponte nelle Alpi and then follow the state highway (SS51) via Cortina d'Ampezzo to Toblach. In Toblach turn left into the Puster Valley (SS49). Continue onwards taking the Niederdorf bypass (five tunnels). After another approx. 2 km turn right through the underpass into the Prags Valley. Follow the road towards Lake Prags until just past St. Veit.

Travelling via the Kreuzberg Pass (from the south-east)

Take the A23 and E55 motorway as far as the Tolmezzo exit. From there continue via Comelico, the Kreuzberg pass and Sexten to Innichen. In Innichen turn left into the Puster Valley (SS49) and then continue via Toblach and Niederdorf to the underpass into the Prags Valley. Take the underpass, then continue towards Lake Prags until just past St. Veit.

Travelling via Lienz (from the east)

Drive into the Puster Valley (SS49) and follow the road. When you read Toblach, take the Niederdorf bypass (five tunnels). After another approx. 2 km turn left through the underpass into the Prags Valley. Follow the road towards Lake Prags. Once you reach the church in the village of St. Veit, it is only another 500 metres to our hotel. You will find us on the right-hand side of the road.

Train and bus

By train – coming from the south from Bolzano and from the north from the Brenner – use the regional trains and change in Brixen for the train into the Puster Valley as far as Niederdorf. There take bus no. 442, which will bring you directly to the hotel. Our stop is called St Veit Oberhaus.

If you are travelling by train from the east via Lienz, you also need to change to bus no. 442 in Niederdorf, which will bring you to the St. Veit Oberhaus bus stop (directly alongside the hotel).

PLEASE NOTE: Until around January 2026, the train between Brixen and Bruneck will be closed with a bus replacement service operating. You can find up-to-date information here.
