Explore the Dolomites

Some places can be easily reached by public transport, for others a car is essential. You can also rent a car on site for a few days.

Nevertheless, hiking boots belong in your luggage.

Journey

Lake Braies - with boat trip (only in summer) and circular hike (only in summer) around the lake.

Day 1

Morning

Prato Piazza – from the hotel to Prato Piazza, then hike over the high plateau and possibly to the Monte Specie with a panoramic view also to the Three Peaks – lunch in one of the huts – drive down.

Afternoon

Plan de Corones – continue to Plan de Corones and take the cable car to the summit, where the Lumen Museum is located – last admission 3.30 p.m. – last descent of the cable car 5.00 p.m.

Day 2

Morning

Three Peaks – drive from the hotel to the foot of the Three Peaks and hike there at least to the Patern Sattel, better do the entire circular hike (only in summer). Important: the parking space must be reserved and paid for online in advance (at least 3, preferably 7 days in advance). Then continue towards Misurina Lake.

Afternoon

Lake Misurina and Lake Dobbiaco – Lunch in one of the huts or restaurants near Lake Misurina, then walk around the lake. Afterwards return journey with a stopover and a hike around Lake Dobbiaco.

Day 3

Morning

Sesto and Val Fiscalina - Take bus 442 to Dobbiaco, change and take bus 446 to Sesto Moso. Get off at the Piano Val Fiscalina stop. A leisurely hiking trail leads to the Rifugio Fondovalle in the Fiscalina Valley, alternatively with cable car to the Croda Rossa and then partly steeply downhill via trail no. 122 (only in summer) to the Rifugio Fondovalle in the Fiscalina Valley. After lunch, take bus 446 back to San Candido.

Afternoon

San Candido and Dobbiaco - ideal for a leisurely stroll through the village. The Collegiate Church of San Candido, the most important sacred building in Romanesque style in the Eastern Alps, and the Dolomythos Museum are definitely worth a visit. Then take bus 446 back to Dobbiaco. Here, too, it is worth taking a walk through the village and then taking bus 443 back to the hotel.

Morning along the way home

Welsperg Castle – small castle above Monguelfo (only open in summer).

Earth pyramids (only in summer) – above Perca, in Monte Vila di Sopra, circular hike of approx. 1.5 hours walking time.

or

Novacella Monastery – near Bressanone, with cloister, museum, library hall, 900 years of art and cultural history.
